Leading forklift truck supplier B&B Attachments is prominent in both the sale and hire of attachments to the UK markets. This month marks a key point in the company’s growth, as they have appointed US-based Lift Technologies, Inc. as distributors of B&B manufactured and associated products. The South Carolina-based company will now distribute these goods across the USA and Canada. This step will greatly assist B&B in raising their profile internationally.

Lift Technologies design and produce a full range of masts, carriages and integrated attachments for all types of mobile material handling equipment. Their masts encompass a wide range of sizes, with lift heights reaching 15 metres with load capacities up to 16 tonnes. Customized mast designs are a core competency of the company, which provides complete front end solutions for many unique customer requirements.

Mike Barton, Managing Director of B&B Attachments, takes control of the export side of the business. He explains why this move is so crucial to his business:

Since the company’s commencement, I have been looking for ways to extend our outreach further, both overseas and in the UK. B&B have had a trading relationship with Elecar SpA in Italy for a number of years - it began in 1981, only one year after B&B was founded. Both Lift Technologies and Elecar are part of Calvi Holdings, based in Merate, Italy

This is a wonderful opportunity for both companies, as the American market is so diverse, and Lift Technologies is very well positioned already. Lift Technologies will be supplying B&B products, such as our BlockMaster range for the construction industry, and other ancillary products. This distribution agreement will make the relationship between our companies even stronger.

Key members of the Lift Technologies team who will be involved in the sale of B&B’s attachments recently completed an intensive training program lead by Neal Fowler, Sales Director at B&B Attachments, at their home office location in Cramlington, UK. This included a selection of representatives, from director of the attachment division, through to parts, and product marketing. They were also joined by President and CEO of the company Konrad Ostmeier, who signed the distribution agreement with Mike Barton.

Konrad Ostmeier explains what this distribution agreement will mean for Lift Technologies:

This is an important step to further expand the product range offered by Lift Technologies Inc. following the recent agreement signed with Kaup GmbH to market their products in North America. Mike and I have worked successfully on various projects since 2001 and I am confident that with the commitment and competence of the B&B team we will be successful with their products in the North American market.

In the 33 years since its establishment, B&B Attachments has grown to be the leading UK supplier of forklift truck attachments. Alongside both the sale and hire of attachments, B&B also provides national service coverage, ensuring that every product can be maintained and repaired by their team of field-based service engineers. The company has also developed many new attachment designs, creating units that are perfectly-suited to their customers’ business requirements.
